Beas River Equestrian Centre

Overview

Visitors are welcome at the Beas River Equestrian Centre (BREC), but as it is a private facility of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), access is generally restricted to members and their guests. Visitors to the Beas River Equestrian Centre (BREC) generally do not have access to the stables without specific authorization and supervision.

Access is strictly controlled for safety and the welfare of the horses:

Authorized Access: Entry into the indoor stable blocks and restricted stable areas is typically limited to:

  • Livery holders
  • Authorized riders
  • BREC staff and instructors
  • Veterinary and farrier personnel

Accompanied Visits: If a visitor is a guest of a member, they may be allowed into certain parts of the stable with the explicit permission of staff, provided they are always accompanied by the host member.

Member Sponsorship: Visitors typically need to be accompanied by a HKJC member who is responsible for their conduct and ensuring they follow all rules and stable etiquette.

Sign-In Requirements: Both the member and the visitor must sign in at the BREC Administration Office or Stable Office upon arrival.

Safety Rules: Even when authorized, visitors must adhere strictly to stable etiquette, including wearing closed-toe shoes, remaining quiet, and not touching or feeding the horses.

Restricted Access: Access to specific areas like stable interiors and certain riding arenas may be restricted to livery holders and staff to maintain safety and horse welfare.

Restricted Times: Visitors are usually asked to leave the stable blocks during the horses designated feeding times (typically between 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm).

For specific questions regarding visitor policies or to arrange a visit, members should contact the BREC Administration Office directly.
